BMCC: When a state-of-the-art venue needs a matching network infrastructure

A scalable, reliable network solution

Since BMCC was built from scratch, we couldn’t test or measure the site in advance. We conducted a predictive site survey, allowing us to work closely with the builders to integrate the cable infrastructure into the structure of the building. Citymesh joined the project early, installing a fiber ring that can support speeds up to 100Gbps. Although this speed isn’t necessary now, it will be crucial in the future. We capped the speed at 40Gbps for now and added 10Gbps switches to match the current 500Mbps internet speed. The design enables the network to scale with future demands and budgets.

As consultants, we ensured the network would support more than just internet access. The BMCC also relies on the network for digital signage, heating, and air conditioning systems. We delivered a complete solution that accommodates both current and future needs, such as integrating solar panels or EV charging stations.

Easy, wireless access for visitors

We installed the Citymesh Access Box to provide easy network access. This device connects to the network from any electrical socket with just power. It eliminates the need for cables, even on floors with carpets or multiple levels. Visitors, exhibitors, and event organizers can quickly and easily access the BMCC network without hassle.

A successful partnership

Our partnership with BMCC has been a success. By handling the venue’s network infrastructure, we’ve allowed BMCC to focus on hosting events. The venue now enjoys a reliable, future-proof network.
