5G as a driver for digital transformation in healthcare
Growing data flows in hospitals are putting pressure on existing networks, preventing crucial innovations such as telemonitoring and remote care from being fully explored. Citymesh, supported by the Financing Facility for European Connections and the FPS Economy, K.M.O., Middle Class and Energy, is investigating how 5G can solve these challenges and make care more accessible and efficient.
Two projects, one goal: more efficient care with 5G
Citymesh is collaborating with leading hospitals to test the impact of 5G in practice:
- 5G-PP project with Maria Middelares: This project focuses on improving care delivery through faster and more reliable networks. The focus is on secure data exchange, smooth cooperation between healthcare providers and innovative partners, and better remote care.
- 5GPHINGE project with AZ Zeno: This project explores innovative applications of 5G that contribute to more efficient hospital operations and patient-centered care. It looks at how smart technologies supported by 5G can strengthen healthcare processes.
Towards a future-proof healthcare system
With these projects, Citymesh demonstrates how 5G can play a key role in modernizing Belgian healthcare. This collaboration, with the support of CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) Program of the EU and the support of FPS Economy, SMEs, Self-Employed and Energy, emphasises the importance of digital innovation in healthcare.
By testing the potential of 5G in practice, Citymesh is working with its partners towards a smarter, more efficient, and patient-centered healthcare environment.
