To celebrate the start of our long-term partnership with Infrabel, we chose a contract signing that perfectly reflects two organisations driven by innovation. The contract was flown in to our brand-new headquarters in Oostkamp by one of our Citymesh drones before being officially signed on the bonnet of the Citymesh Bolster.
A remarkable contract deserves a remarkable delivery
Last week, we proudly announced that Citymesh has been awarded a five-year contract by Infrabel to modernise 150 GSM-R sites across Belgium. Backed by a €4.2 million investment, this partnership will help prepare the Belgian railway network for the next generation of railway communications and the rollout of 5G.
The official signing ceremony took place at our brand-new headquarters on Siemenslaan in Oostkamp, in the presence of colleagues, partners, members of the press, and Mayor Jan de Keyser. And because milestones like this deserve more than an ordinary signing, we opted for something a little different.
Rather than being handed across the table, the contract was delivered by a Citymesh drone.
After landing, Peter Franken, Deputy CIO of Infrabel, and Mitch De Geest, CEO of Citymesh, officially signed the agreement on the bonnet of our iconic Bolster. A symbolic moment that perfectly captured the essence of this partnership: innovation, technology, and a shared vision for the future.
Looking ahead
This signing marks the beginning of a partnership we are incredibly proud of. We would like to thank Infrabel for their trust and look forward to working together over the coming years to build a safer, smarter, and future-ready Belgian railway network.
