On September 11, 2025, Federal Minister of Defense Theo Francken, together with his delegation of representatives from his cabinet and the Belgian army, visited the brand-new Remote Operations Center (R.O.C.) of Citymesh in DronePort Sint-Truiden.
The technology Citymesh is developing today can help secure our national safety for tomorrow.

During the visit, CEO Mitch De Geest explained Citymesh’s role as a pioneer in innovative connectivity, telecom and drone solutions. General Manager Citymesh Drones, Hans Similon, demonstrated how our Safety Drone Network is already making a difference today for fire and emergency services. With a network of 50 Drones-in-a-Box, we enhance public safety and ensure that emergency services have a access to a complete situational report more quickly.

Minister Francken also attended a live flight carried out by our R.O.C. team. This illustrated how the integration of drones, reliable connectivity and smart software can contribute to safer and more efficient operations in emergency response.
