Citymesh wins ‘Wireless Infrastructure’ lot for the third consecutive time within the City of Bruges framework agreement, this time as lead contractor

Lot 2: Wireless Infrastructure

The City of Bruges has awarded the wireless infrastructure lot within the ICT infrastructure framework agreement to Citymesh as lead contractor. This framework contract allows all qualified participants to purchase wireless networks directly from Citymesh, without the need for a separate public tender. This is the third consecutive award, with a significant turning point: for the first time, Citymesh is acting as lead contractor.

The framework contract has a maximum duration of six years and represents a potential value of 50 million euros. Moreover, it forms the perfect combination with the previously awarded Lot 1: Network Infrastructure.

Qualified participants

The following entities are entitled to make use of this framework contract:

Bruges Group
  • City of Bruges and OCMW Bruges and all welfare associations
  • Local Police Bruges
  • All autonomous municipal companies linked to the City of Bruges / OCMW Bruges / Local Police Bruges
  • All internally and externally autonomous entities linked to the City of Bruges / OCMW Bruges / Local Police Bruges
  • Education organized by the City of Bruges
Local authorities in Flanders
  • The 300 Flemish cities, municipalities and OCMWs
  • Newly merged entities or cooperation structures (such as reference regions)
  • Municipal/OCMW welfare associations or autonomous care institutions with a public-law status
  • Autonomous urban entities (AGBs, urban non-profits, non-profits of welfare associations, urban/municipal education)
  • Other Flemish public entities
  • Districts
  • Provinces
  • Local police zones
Existing customers from earlier City of Bruges framework agreements
  • All entities that already made use of the framework contract “ICT Purchasing Center – City of Bruges and other entities (2018)” and that have reconfirmed their interest

What can be purchased under this framework contract?

Under this framework agreement, Citymesh offers:

  • Supply and/or installation of wireless networks and access points, including controllers and accessories
  • Study and consultancy work where required to support design and implementation
  • WiFi-as-a-Service for private domains (WiFi solutions including internet access)
  • Temporary WiFi solutions in the public domain, for example for events
  • Point-to-point wireless connections between locations (to a limited extent)
